I am thinking of parting with an extensive FW-04 inventory including new LD engine and many many parts. Anyone SERIOUSLY interested should contact me @ markanda@queensunitedrc.com. The area that I ran onroad is not available anymore so I feel that I should part with my favorite r/c vehicles of all time.

Restoring a dinosour
It's been 5 years since I switch from rc cars to flyin RC until last night that I thought of goin back to rc cars. I immediately grab my superten and my TA03 from my closet, I tried firing up my superten's LD engine but no luck. I think it need a rebuild. I then immediately check the web for some parts but no luck... I came to know that it's already discontinued and we all know what it means...
1. Q: What sort of engine should I consider as a replacement?
2. Q: Is there anybody who tried converting this dinosour into an Off Road truck? If so parts did you replaced?

Get a OS .18CVR. Cheap speed at under $100 at Tower. Planning to get one myself for my other Kyosho soon.
Not sure about offroad truck. Maybe the TR-15 suspension parts may fit but I don't think it will make a good idea.

Thanks for the advice Dan. I'm actually eyeing for that 18CV-RX. I checked tower and there are 4 models. 2 with slide carb and 2 with rotary. I don't know which one fits this dinosour.

Either carb setup will work. They will just require setting up the throttle linkage differently.

The OSMG2101 fits. But I'm not sure about OSMG2102 and OSMG2104 since they are equiped with a pullstart. Pullstarts are not recommended anyway, more hassle.

Thanks for the tips guys.
Anybody who tried the one with Pull Start? Would it fit? I'm actually thinking of getting one with PS to save some $$$ coz I don't wanna buy a separte starter since my previous engine is equiped with PS. I'm tryin to be cheap here

Pullstart will work. You don't really need to get a non pullstart engine unless you're hardcore about racing.

Dan,
Thanks for the info. I have another question though if you don't mind..
I lost my stock engine mount, as it is not needed with the .15 OS ldx. I understand you need to have that to mount the .18 cv-rx. where can I get those coz I'm searching even ebay there's not much luck on superten parts. Any info?
Appreciate your time. Cheers!

Have you tried your LHS? They should be able to order directly from Kyosho America if you provide the part number for the pullstart engine mount.
If not, I think Ofna has some adjustable sliding mounts that might work.

Replacement spur/pinions?
Hey everybody,
Had the Fw03 4 stroke running the other day, I think I sucked up a rock into the spur gears. Any replacements available anywhere? Can I set it up as a single speed somehow?
Anbody know what the deal is with the "new" Kyosho USA?
If I can't get replacements or a new tranny, I'll have a really nice Superten 4 stroke with all kinds of spares (except spur gears) up for sale.
Fingers crossed....

You may want to check this out...i have two extra trannies in this deal too...lol....this is a steal for any Fw-04 enthusiast. Im forced to get rid of it due to no decent onroad racing of this scale in my area. I went on to electric and I must sacrifice this and other great fw-04 stuff nib

My LHS can still get Kyosho parts from Kyosho America. I have had no problems. Heck, I was even able to get some parts for my old Kyosho F-Ten chassis which came out in '98.

i have found a few parts online, but i am specifically looking for tires, cant find any at all.
does kyosho produce parts any longer? there is no mention of this car on kyoshos websites any longer...
i want to be able to keep my car racing, we still have a small following of superten racers here, but not even the hpi car is made any longer... looks like supertens have gone the way of the dodo....

Which specific tires? I like to use the HPI Super tires (the C10-30's.) They mount perfectly on the Kyosho wheels.
