buy another pull start... then take your time fixing the one that is broke. You just gotta have two of those things. They ALWAYS break at the worst time.

about the best i can tell you is get the one end on the spool and use a little high temp epoxy to anchor it down, then use both hands (one to hold the spring, one to wind it) to coil that sucker back up tight (wind, wind, wind, hold, pull, pull, wind wind wind repeat), then try to jam it back in there and get the other end to pop into its little spot on the inside of the pullstart...it takes some practice (and patience) but it's not impossible...those little .12s make my fingers bleed

all I can say it's a pain to rebuild the pullstarter...
but it worked multiple times for me, just some patience, good tools an the trick bukkake came with (epoxy)...
Hope I can reply to this, tried to reply to the "posessed servo's" thread, but didn't work...

and a p.s. while you're in there it never hurts to replace the string with some thick nylon cord (like $3 a spool from the hardware/department store)...tie good fat knots and drip a little CA into them (watch that it doesnt wick up the cord and glue the whole PS together though) and set it up so you run out of string before you run out of spring and you will hopefully never have to rewind it again...

opps i messed up i belive(double post)
ok i got it...
put the center part on first pulled pretty tight winded it up and repetted sevral times...i also wond up all my string b4 hand and i used a pair of needle noise plyers to hold the end i needed to insert into the ps casin
poped her in and had like 3 inches of pull so i pulled on it then held the pully in place and un-wraped the string a couple of times (or untill i felt comfitable with how far it pulled out)
the spring snaps back nice and fast now and it's all together and now when i have to get into my side gover i remember to get some black tape or tape and tape up the ps so it dont pop off... i noticed with it this tightly wond it is usefull to use a screw driver to aid puttin it back together..(holding the pully up when you flip it over)
welll have fun out there

Um, my spring breakks more than my cord. Havent broken the cord yet. Ive rebuilt my pullstarter several time and then i got pissed at it because everytime i bent the spring to pop it into place it would break. So, i got a better PS.
