Yeah that's something I've been thinking about because I have the rd logics dual exhaust on my t-maxx 3.3 and I love it. It's funny because the guys at my lhs basically called me an idiot in so many words for ordering the dual exhaust. They said it wouldn't have enough back pressure and it would be impossible to start on top of running like crap and I can honestly say they were WRONG! I'm sure depending on the motor and gearing and other factors they could be right and I'm not saying they're idiots, I'm just glad I didn't listen to them because I would have missed out on a ton of fun in my opinion! So I considered getting a dual setup for this one but from what I've read I'd get a lot better performance out of a single tuned pipe, and I'm going for stupid speed basically LOL. The header I've got won't work at all I don't think and I used to be a mechanic, but my welding skills aren't anything to write home about . Plus apparently getting divorced is expensive so I'm balling on a super tight budget at this point lol.

Oh, i know tight budgets m8..
This type of nitro engine is a two stroke so the backpreassue is important.
Ive head very different opinions on those Rd systems, but what seems to be the base of the argument is that they only have one baffle plate in the muffler, and in theory that should not be enough, but depending on the gearing, fuel mix, ie. run temperature, the variables are endless.

i made a rear muffler for my old kyosho sandmaster ST with some old copper pipe and a solder iron, wasnt pretty but it but it made good sound.

The theory sais that a longer header should give more topend power as the exhaust pulses are kept at a high speed, emptying the cylinder more efficiently, by creating a better sucktion effect.
On the other hand make it too long and the buttom end cant push hard enough to make it rev fast.

Its a ballance between more and too much..
But you could experiment with copper pipe and a cheap gas solder thingo.
Doesnt cost much..

That definitely makes sense. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a serious newbie in the nitro world but I'm always happy to learn I've realized though that some people will give you advice based on what they want instead of what you really want. I don't know if it's just my lhs but I can't tell you how my times I've asked about something and just got the "oh you don't want to do that, you should do this" response. I do realize though that it's also a "sales" environment so I try to take it with a grain of salt. Against my own better judgement I still ordered the duals (even though they pretty much had me convinced I was wasting my money) but I'm really glad I did! That's why I like these forums cause you get a ton of info with no pressure basically so thanks again for the advice. I'm actually looking into getting a header to be honest because even though I consider myself a decent fabricator, it's not my strong point and I'm not prepared to deal with the aggravation yet If I can't find a header that works eventually, I'll be hitting you up for some ideas for sure!

Please do m8.

And yer, some lhs´s try to sell what makes sence for your need and some tryes to max out on income, the trick is to notice the difference.

The engine you got there is perfect for a rear exhaust with that rear port, getting the header to curve around the engine will make a tight angle that might make a loss in flow, cutting down on power and increasing the headders temperarure.
So what i´m saying is, get a header with a good radius around the bend.
The back preassure should be created in the muffler not in the headder pipe.

To be honnest, i´m not much of a nitro guy, Í just love the nerd aspect in these things.
I´m a automechanic student by the way.

Ok folks,

I'm going to rebuild my supers to put them in running shape. I'm going to work on the nitro first. Hopefully I will have it running in a couple of weeks.

Couple new photos to share.

Bought an E30 shell, kept it simple. German flag on white.

Finally, after much searching, I own an electric Super. Thanks Contender!

2-speed and 5700 brushless system coming soon.

Love the bimmer. Takes me back to my days when I was painting a few of them. Just think, there is still a M3 Super Nitro body out there floating around in someone garage. If only I could find it

Also love how you shot teh HPI EP, I'm going to have to try that next time I shoot a car.

Cool. I couldn't tell from the photo or description whether it was the GT2 you've been hunting for.

Got a post that you guys are going to like. I've been pretty MIA with the cross-country move and the start of my new job, but I still peruse the classifieds and I found a deal today that I couldn't pass up.

Craigslist listing was for a Super Nitro Rally in great shape, OS .18CVR and two speed, brand new tires. Called the guy up, agreed to a good price, everything was good. I mentioned that this will be my fourth Super chassis, and he says: "ya know what... I think I have something lying around somewhere that you might know about... you know Wolfpack Radicals?" Yes sir, yes I do. "I have a Super Nitro on-road that has the conversion kit that I never got around to building." And with that, I had no choice but to take them both. He threw in a bunch of RS4-2 parts that fit, a random tuned pipe, 4 foam tires, and I got three bodies: Alfa in new shape, Escudo that's good for bashing, and a 911 that is thoroughly ripped but could be saved with adhesives for bashing onroad.

Everything included

Nice Alfa, and a transmitter/receiver

Porsche and Escudo... Escudo lacks a wing, any ideas?

Super Nitro Rally - CF front shock tower already on the way

.18CV-R and 2-speed

Chassis in awesome shape

Brand new rally tires

Wolfpack Super

He didn't get around to installing the full center-tank conversion. It appears that I either need to move the center pulley to the front of the car or find the pulley system that works? Upon examination it actually looks like I move the mid pulley forward. Smart design. If anyone has helpful instructions or tips, pleas share (I'm going off these photos: http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/show...22HPI+Super%22)

Hubs for 1/8th scale foams! And lucky me, I already have spare Proceed tires

Cool top plate

He never ran the thing. Holy cow.

And how much did this cost me? Everything was $300. Yep. I was going to pay 180 for the Rally, and the extra wolfpack chassis he threw in for 120. I know that every time I get a car like this I say "I got the best deal ever," but this one might reign supreme.

So, I now own 5 Super chassis! Sheez. To be honest, when I first saw photos of your guys' collections I was like, "how can they possibly buy so many of the same thing?!"

And look at me now.
