I'm sorry...but from the reviews that I herd from that vehicle I would say go and return it and get your money back for a better vehicle.
I have herd little good reviews from that vehicke so I would ask you to return that truck and get your money back for a better one.
Try 1/8 scale buggies they are fun.
0r 4x4 vehicles are the best if you want offroad handaling and quick turns.
I fell in love with 4x4 and won't settle for anything else

I agree with mad, I have seen nothing but bad reviews for that truck. If I were you I would spenmd the extra 100-150 ang get the XXXNT RTR or the RC10GT RTR PLUS Both awesome trucks. JMO-BULLETT-

I had that truck, it has lots of potential!! I put the optional two speed tranny in it moves fast! If you also get the tuned pipe for it it will really fly! Both chassis decks and shock towers are all aluminum so they are pretty strong. I liked the truck, but i got rid of it because i needed $$ for my rustler, well i got an electric instead for the trade.

Tower Hobbies St-15
I Just picked up a Tower Hobbies St-15 off of e-bay! I ran it all day
without any problems yet. I did think the steering was alittle week. The truck didn't want to hold a tight turn at higher throtle , so I had to let off the gas going in to the turn and was at least able to gas it coming out of the turn hard enough to brake the tires loose and bring it around. It looked like a saftey for the tie rod or maybe the servo , but I think I can modify that with a stronger servo and maybe make some titanium tie rods and see how that works. The truck did about 30mph and that seemed OK for the price I paid.

Yeah, the only downside to it is the steering. I think its weak, but it does ok. Also, get rid of the stock tires because they harden up to the point where the car gets NO traction. THis happens almost immediatly. Good luck getting the glue unstuck from the wheels though, its like they used the purest form of crazy glue or something! I had to use a dremel cut off wheel and hack through the tire just to get it removed.

Yeah, like I said the wheels are like cemented to the tires. (Hm... only if traxxas would do that....)

A good suggestion is to get the losi xxx-nt sport rtr I have one and it is great but the st-15 is also a good car except the traction on the wheels. If you have any problems that are expensive and to hard to fix I would reccomend the losi rtr, it can go 37 mph and you right rustler dude traxxas should of glued the tires to the wheels. I got rid of my st-15 cause of the crankshaft and connecting rod and other problems.

Tires for grass, spur gear
I have an ST-15 that I liked to bang around in my back yard. With summer the grass is longer, I was wondering if there are any tires that someone can suggest for better running in grass? It seems in the grass I lose traction and strip the spur gear.
That's my biggest complaint about the truck. It is easy to work on and after break in my engine cranks right up. When it is up and running I like the truck. The other draw back is that all your spare parts have to come from Tower. You can't just pick up a part at your LHS. When I needed the new spur gear I had to wait a month for it to be in stock. I bought four of them to keep myself stocked up.

Iwould not reccomend running your car in tall grrass because it will overheat and There are tires for it like prolines or just go to the site, www.towerhobbies.com for a complete selection of tires and hop ups for your car. I wold recommend a tire like the on on the t maxx maybe with spikes.

i have owned the st-15 for like 2 years and its been great. ive only striped 1 spur gear, lost 2 dog bones, a air filter and thats it.
if u get 1 id say to get a 2 speed tranny and a tunded pipe. o and like proline dirt hog2s maybe. other than that its been a great truck. its fairly fast like 30-35 maybe, with 15% nitro. th tires harden up quick and u get no traction at all. so get better tires when u get it. for the price its a good truck.

hope this helps

I don't own a ST-15 but a used Maximum MT... It doesn't have the stock .16 TORQ but a Tower Hobbies .15 engine.
As it seems so far, this engine is louder than other RC vehicles I've heard before... Is that just this engine?
Also, it seems I have to get high RPM before the truck will start to move... Is there something I can adjust in the clutch, or is that a sign of a bad clutch?

I do not have one but Sinyih (the manufacturer of it) has a US rep.
http://www.robsrchobbies.com/home
he dose not sell the truck because of Towers contract. But you can get parts there and view other Sinyih products. I personally 4 different 1/8 scale cars of theirs and have had anly minor problems with them. No more then with my Ofnas, Schumachers, Assoicated, and Keoysho cars. They have been much cheaper to repair then all others I have had.

I have owned a tower st-15 for almost 1 1/2 years now and the motor has been nothing but trouble .It didnt run when i first got it(new) and the head screws were loose. Now the truck wont hardly even hit when i crank it.The glow plug and everything is good so what could it be.It has good compression and is getting fuel. There is a small piece i just noticed that is chipped off the side of the block but it is part of the threading for one of the head bolts and i dont think it should hurt the running of the engine but maybe it does.Today i bought a kit traxxas stampede from tower and i am going to use the electrics off the st-15 for it when it gets here.My engine in the st-15 always ran too rich when it ran no matter where the needles were.If anyone could please help me get it running i would greatly appreciate it because i have never had any fun with the truck because it hasnt ever ran right.I might also consider selling it with no electrics or trading if anyone is interested.

Also, what kind of warranty does the st-15 engine have on it.In the magazine it says all tower engines come with a 2 year warranty and i was just wondering about that.

I think it looks like a decent truck. The biggest knock against it is that there are better trucks available for not much more money. If they could add full bearings and even a cheap tuned pipe and keep it under $150 with no radio, it's specs would be on a par with the HPI Rush Traxxas Rustler/Sport, and better than the similarly-priced Duratrax trucks.
No, it's not a pure racing truck, but most R/C cars and trucks never get raced.
If anybody has pics, post them.

I had one for about 6 months. I can compare it to a nitro rustler and a nitro stampede...the pull starter breaks kinda easily, the steering is loose and weak, and I didnt like its gears. So i got an 80 oz in. servo for steering, I used a drill to start, and I got the two speed tranny available for it. The two speed was awsome! Great acceleration and speed. It was a 3 day challenge to install the 2 speed... I like the fact it has aluminum towers and upper/lower chassis. I could benefit from a tuned pipe too. Cant beat the price either.
