Hi guys!

I just got a wild Dagger from a friend.. it's used and a little abused.

The only signs of abuse is the scratched bottom, any other thing is well, oh and the body is bad, painted on the inside and then on the outside.. but still presentable.

All stock but equipped with ball bearings.

What can you suggest an ESC I upgrade to? I am at awe with the twin motor set-up, can an ordinary ESC handle twin stock motors in parallel connections?

I'll post my pics soon...

I am all ears...

Dongskie...... My daughter's fiance has one of those and I got a Rooster for him and it works like a charm. It handles both stock motors just fine. I would imagine that a Super Rooster would be a better ESC down the line ...specially if you are gonna add some hotter motors. Hope this helps......

i have a lrp f1 pro reverse and i think that would work better. it can handle 2 motors and it has no motor limit. it is a bit more expensive than a super rooster though.

i was using a rebel reverse with 2 19T doulbes in my WD. It handled them fine and i had no problems. Great ESC for the money but i dont think they make them any more.

I'm thinking of using the Mechanical Speed Controller for the moment that i do not have an ESC yet, did your original box stock Wild Dagger came with MSC? I am afraid this will heat up with the twin motor load.

The mechanical speed control the Dagger comes with can easily handle two stock johnson motors, but anything above that will strain the msc and it'll either burn up, or melt the chassis.

There are a lot of esc's out now a days that can handle two mild modified motors, but i would suggest the Novak Super rooster, because if you choose to go with some "fast" motors, you'll need the power handling abilities, and its just such a smooth controller..... can be had for $90 on Ebay.

Dave56bug: Thanks for the ideas... now my ESC choices are widening... LRP ESC's are easier to find here in Manila.... Novak's line of ESC aren't that readily available yet... just most of the low end, entry level esc...

Hoping to run my WD soon!

Thanks again!!

imex is starting to make 2.2 tires, and those will fit on a dagger, as for the dual battery, it would need some chassis moding to make it work but ive seen it done.

If you wanna run your WD on wet surfaces... better run it with the MSC mechanical speed controller....

You can not "water proof" your wild dagger but you can make it water resistant. I do it to all my trucks during the winter. Its not that hard to do just make sure you have high quality SS or chrome bearings and you seal your servos. And you also need to wrap your reciever in a balloon or seran wrap or something. Your probably gonna have to make a make shift cover for your ESC tho. And as for the motors i just usaly take toilet paper rolls and cover them in electrical tape and put them around the motors. I usualy keeps them pretty dry.

Are the RPM rims like the Slingshot or Clawz a direct fit on the Wild Dagger?

Looking to get my Wild Dagger going again

Hey guys.

What motors are people running in their daggers these days?

I used to have a couple of crappy 13T motors in mine. Just looking for some ideas as to what to go for keeping in mind I can only use the stock gearing.

You tell it when you have one...

Install a set of shox wit 3 to 4 inches of travel and you'll feel like driving an EMAXX...

iv got 4 inch oil shocks on my WD but 3 inch ones suit it much better. It doesnt have the greatest suspension travel but its still works and is good for crawling and jumping. BTW this truck was my very first RC.

Pros.
-indestructable. (hit head on with almost any other RC truck out there and the WD will come on top)
-more power than the average stadium truck
-endless possibilitys such as 4ws, has the power to turn the biggest tires, tranny can take any power combo, dual batteries can be used to.
-Great price for a dual motored monster. For the amount of the truck and radio stuff you still have enough money left over to make it out-perform the e-maxx.
-Add some bigger and better shocks and some bigger tires the truck is the same size as a maxx.

Cons.
-Rims are a bit week
-hard to find parts where I live
-2 possible pinion sizes with out a motor mount upgrade
-no bearings, which makes a huge difference in performance and run time.

Hope this helps ya out. And BTW if you reall want to go for the gusto get the TXT-1. I love mine, it currently goes like 8mph but its still a blast to drive.

Hi guys!!

I just can't stop running my Dagger pack after pack...

I realized I cannot benefit from installing a Tamiya Type T motor at the front coz the rotation is reversed...

Any suggestions?
