Pretty nice track. Ours is temp., so we have to set it up on every race day. I don't mind, at least the track changes, some-what. Always a long back straight into a sweeper. That's what we get for playing with 1/8 scales.

2x2x1? I think that's a bit big. The battery casing is something like, 2. x .75 x 1.25. I ended up using the Team Orion 1100 mah micro pack, and moving one battery so they are in straight line. Perfect fit.

Front one ways are on their way, should be in the States very soon.
I don't know if a rear solid axle will be made available. We tested with a solid rear and our results are mixed. You can easily make one out of the diff in your car, email me to find out how.

Two Questions

1. Does anyone use an AMB personal tansponder? If so, can you post a pick of where you mount it?

2. This pivot ball suspension is new to me. I understand that you use the clips so that you know that the balls are set equal on both sides, but do you still need a gauge to set everything up? For example, if I have a 2mm camber clip in the bottom front and a 1mm clip in the top, how do I know how many degrees of camber I have?

Thanks

I just got my AMB transponder today. I mounted it inbetween the front uprights with the cord going through the front shock tower and underneath the sway-bar.

I tried using the camber clips, but they kept on falling off. Just be sure to keep both sides equal (use a ruler or caliper). Hudy, Integy, and Fioroni all make decent set-up fixtures. Don't have one yet but will in near future.

You can tape or glue the AMB to the side of your throttle servo. You can also purchase a AMB mount from Team Jibroni (sorry don't have the info with me). This mount clips to the existing mount and holds the new AMB's in place.
You do not need a gauge if you use the clips, but you should have at least a cheap camber gauge (RPM, etc.) Set your front camber so that the tires wear flat, often there is no need to measure the camber. Set the toe in the rear using the clips, and again, set the camber so that the tires wear flat. You can get a setup gauge to check the rear toe, but again, set it so that you have enough rear grip.
These clips should not fall out, if they are you are doing something wrong....don't tighten the pivot balls so that they squeeze the clips out of place.

Garen - thanks for the info on the transponder mount. I'll look for one. As far as the camber clips, how do I know how much camber each clip will give me, or is it trial and error.

Thanks

your best bet is to get a camber gage. The RPM one is good and is no more than $10. Use the clips on the bottom piviot balls just to make sure the cars width is even on both sides, then use the gage to check your camber.

Thanks - That's what I thought would be the easiest. I already have the gauge, so that will work. Like I said, this pivot ball stuff is new to me.

Piviot balls can be confusing at first, but you will love them.

thrust bearing?

1. if the thrust bearing is still in place ( i mean all the small balls) is still intact , is it considered still okay, and

2. if its ok...does the wearing out of the washer( inside and outside off the bearing effects the performance..?

u see i am having problem the 2 speed enganging pretty quickk....from my past experience 2 things that causes the quick shifting is either broken thrust bearing or the spring tension inside of the 2 speed ishifting no longer good. got to change to new spring.

thanks.....

Well, I finished putting my Pro together tonight. The only thing I have left to do is cut the mounting and cooling holes in the body. Hopefully I'll be able to start breaking it in tomorrow.

Here's a pic of the body.

I think it turned out OK for a can job.

If the thrust bearing balls are in place, the bearing is likely still good. I don't know what you can do to the clutch to make the thrust washers wear out. I have never experienced poor shifting because of the thrust bearing going bad.
Keep the thrust bearing greased, leave a little play for the clutchbell, and you'll be fine.

Clutch Problems

First, My clutch was engaging almost immediately, and then it wouldn't disengage. Now, it engages properly about 2-3 times then starts to slip. I've been told that the centax style clutches need to "break in", but I feel like I'm chasing the setting around. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

i haven't any problems with mine. what spring are you using? I'm using the 1.4 mm spring on mine with the adjustment 11.8 mm from the end of the sg shaft. It'll engage about 1/4 throttle every time. never had any problems with it not un-engaging.

The car somes with a belt tensioner. increasing the tension on the belt should eliminate your problem.
